Family Therapy
Family Therapy may include couples, children and parents, nuclear families, blended families, and/or extended family.
My work with families is integrative to meet the specific needs or concerns that are unique to your family context. No one is too young, and no one is too old, for the work of family therapy.
Some families benefit from specific skills or strategies to problem solve together. Some families benefit from family session work that helps them describe their experience using visual and spacial methods. Some families benefit from therapy where emotions are the central focus of the session. Some families cover all of these bases and more in their family therapy. We can work together to identify what might help you and your loved ones work together in therapy.
I’ve worked with many families over the years, large and small, young and old, and from a variety of contexts and belief systems. I’ve seen beautiful things happen in situations that were dire at the start. I cannot guarantee an outcome, but I can assure you that you and your loved ones are worth the effort.
Family work may begin with the family together, or with an individual appointment. If you are not sure what to schedule, feel free to contact me and I’ll help you determine the best plan for your initial session.
